Happy March! 🙂
On Wednesday, March 11th, the youth of Kimisis Theotokou Church (pictured above) hosted a Pajama and Movie Night to benefit PJ’s for Patients! These dedicated young people belong to the GOYA, or Greek Orthodox Youth Association, of their church. Along with having weekly meetings and organizing social events, the youth of Kimisis GOYA are engaged members of their community who strive to better the world around them. From their movie night alone, Kimisis GOYA collected 40 pajamas, which will be delivered to the Ronald McDonald House New York and Memorial Sloan-Kettering later this month! PJ’s for Patients would like to say a HUGE thank you to these awesome young people! The GOYA Pajama and Movie Night supplemented an ongoing PJ4P drive that Kimisis Theotokou Church has hosted for the past couple of months. The vibrant Kimisis community has been so supportive of PJ’s for Patients and our message, collecting pajamas and monetary donations to benefit pediatric cancer patients receiving treatments in local hospitals.
The community has raised a total of over $1,000 for the purchase of new, 100% cotton pajamas! We are so, so appreciative of the fantastic work Kimisis has done for PJ’s for Patients, and look forward to more collaborations in the future. A special thanks must also be given to Mrs Peggy Lambrinoudis, a mother, member of Kimisis Church, and Sunday School teacher who organized this entire collaboration. Also, thanks so much to Father Ganas and the youth of Kimisis for publicizing this event!
