We hope you had a warm and snuggly holiday season and have enjoyed a wonderful commencement to 2016!

It’s been a little while since our last post, but many things have happened for PJ’s for Patients throughout December and what’s passed of 2016 so far!

First of all, we’ve officially finished our annual TP Pumpkin fundraiser, which we’d planned to conclude soon after Thanksgiving but continued when demand for the pumpkins in our local business and doctors office collaborators continued to be high throughout the middle of December! The fundraiser was incredibly successful; proceeds were used to purchase approximately 200 pairs of new, 100% cotton pajamas!

On December 24th, PJ’s for Patients delivered 140 pajamas to the Pediatrics Department of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center and the Ronald McDonald House NY! Many of these pajamas (some of which are pictured in the gallery below) were donated by the DGK School, which has been consistently supportive of and passionate about PJ’s for Patients, leading a several-month-long pajama collection. Many of them were also winter/Christmas/Star Wars/unicorn themed, which was very exciting for us!

We would like to extend our most sincere thanks to the students, parents (in particular Anna Petalas, who spearheaded the PJ4P initiative at the school), administration, faculty, and community of DGK, as well as all of our other supporters, for their continued work and encouragement. We are looking forward to collaborating with DGK in February during their Flannel Day, kind of like a pajama day, but with DGK’s flannel pajamas specifically!

Looking back, 2015 was our biggest, most successful year since PJ4P was founded in October 2013, and we want to make 2016 even more successful! If you are interested in becoming involved (organizing a fundraiser, making a donation, forwarding information about a hospital/inpatient unit, or just learning more about us), please email me, Athena, at asofides@smith.edu.

Have a wonderful day!
